CBT doesn’t look identical for every person, and it shouldn’t. Your experiences, goals, and pace shape the work we do together. At the same time, having a clear structure helps both therapist and client know what to expect and feel grounded throughout the process.
I use the simple four‑step framework below to guide our work. These steps give us a shared roadmap, while the content within them is always tailored to your needs, your story, and what feels most helpful for you.
What to expect from your CBT Journey
1
Initial call
To make sure I am the right therapist for you, we can arrange a free 10 minute phone call to discuss your goals and expectations for therapy
2
Assessment
We will complete a 50 minute assessment session where we discuss your difficulties and I share how I think I can support you. Whether you're seeing me as a CBT therapist in Reading or joining therapy sessions online, the process remains the same
3
Treatment
If we both think we are a good match, we can then book in regular treatment sessions of 50 minutes
4
Review
I find it can be helpful to review our treatment plan every four sessions, to check we are still meeting your therapy goals
